The Gulf Mission Project Team gathered in Denver for an evening of orientation and teambuilding on July 21. Then, bright and early the next morning, they left for Gulfport, MS, to spend a week helping people rebuild their homes and their lives after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

The Gulf Mission Project Team provided a daily log of their experiences. Each day they added a brief description of the projects and activities. Simply scroll down this page and click on the "More. . ." link to go to a log for that day.

Goals for the GMP
  • Provide quality service to the “least of these” victims of Hurricane Katrina in the Gulfport, Mississippi community
  • Build a relational connection with the people of Gulfport, Mississippi
  • Begin a life-long commitment to and involvement in missions by youth and adults from the ABC of the Rocky Mountains
  • Build community among the youth of ABC of the Rocky Mountains
  • Involve the churches of the ABC of the Rocky Mountains in a common mission project
