This year the Ministerial Leadership Committee (MLC) completed an extensive revision of our policy manual. We substantially shortened the manual, clarified and streamlined the processes for the various ordinations. You can find this document on the ABCRM website.
The MLC continues to sponsor classes that meet the requirements for regional ordination. These classes are open to everyone, but we have scheduled the topics to coordinate with the regional ordination course requirements. Our goal for the classes is to offer our region high quality, accessible, affordable, relational and collegial learning experiences. To date, the teachers for our classes have been professors or recently retired professors, and the evaluations from our students have been outstanding. We plan to complete our required course rotation in the fall 2009 to coincide with the ABCRM Gathering. This winter we will have two courses available online—Christian Education and Church Administration. Since this will be our first attempt at online education, we expect that the learning curves for both students and teachers will be steep. We were able to bring the Rev. Dr. Alan Selig in to consult with us and help educate us about distant learning. Bruce Boelter, an associate pastor of Crossroads American Baptist Church, has agreed to help us with the logistics when we actually put the courses online.

During the coming year we will continue to provide high quality educational events for our region and uphold high standards for ABCRM clergy, as well as seek new opportunities to serve the region.
