Our season began with so much snow in May we couldn’t get into the camp to get it open when we had scheduled to begin. But it was such a blessing to have all the moisture as we have had no problems with fire danger until just recently because it was so green. Our God is good . . . all the time.
The season has had its share of issues. We had a week where the water treatment system decided it was not going to work correctly, we had to pay for the leach field re-permit, the tractor needed some major repairs and the pole barn permit required beetle-kill trees to be removed, cut and covered as well as taking down trees in the defensible space around that area.
But the pole barn materials are bought and ready to be used in September during the week September 17-25. I want to thank everyone who worked on that project to get it completed.
Our camps this year were small but were filled with the Spirit of the Lord. Enrollments are as follows:
Primary Camp (Lori Lundblad, Director) -- 21
Junior Camp (Eric Moorhouse, Director) -- 20
Junior High Camp (Sylvia Hansen and Deanna Dyer, Directors) -- 25
Senior High Camp (Cody Hansen and Jason King, Directors) -- 36
First Women’s Craft Camp -- 4
We had weekend groups from the middle of August until the end of September and included school choir groups, scrap bookers and a group from the Lutheran men. Our facilities are used all during the season and we are truly grateful and blessed. We began the craft camp this year and those attending had a great week. Each day a different craft was presented and completed that day, with music and Bible study in the evening. It will be offered again next year and every woman in the Region is encouraged to attend. It was a huge blessing this year.
The Wyoba Board invites anyone to attend meetings and those dates will be posted on the website at www.wyoba.org. The following churches have Board representation:
• Bethel Baptist, Casper
• First Baptist, Casper
• First Baptist, Gillette
• Community Baptist, Glenrock
• First Baptist, Lander
• First Baptist, Laramie
• First Baptist, Torrington
• Trinity Baptist, Douglas
If your church does not have a representative, please consider sending someone. If you would like to be on the e-mail list, please contact Barbara Vinzant, Secretary, at vee3@aol.com to be added.
We have caring people working at the camp and keeping it running. Our God is good . . . all the time and continues to bless us.
