The MLC has been working very hard on the development of the Academy, which will take the educational responsibilities of training to meet ABCRM standards for all types of ordination recommendation and recognition. We have looked at several different approaches and possibilities as we continue to give opportunities for education to bring pastors and chaplains on board with ABCRM. We have pastors from other denominations that take courses in such areas as Baptist Polity and History. There are several that come as second career pastors without seminary training who are evaluated as to what courses they need to make the transition into ABCRM with a Regional recognition of ordination. And as expected we work with churches as they work toward ordaining new pastors coming out of ABC seminaries. The staff of ABCRM works very hard at coordinating much of this activity. We are coming very close to defining and implementing the Academy approach to training.
It has been a joy to recommend several persons in three different areas of ordination this past year: Recognition of Standard Ordinations, Regional Ordinations and Chaplaincy. It is also a great pleasure to be invited to join with our churches in the celebration of the ordination of these individuals.
