ABCRM Board approves a new grant for supporting churches

Dear Pastors and Congregations,

The past 20 months have challenged churches to respond in new ways to practice community and proclaim hope in this time. We are at a time when almost all ABCRM churches are back in their sanctuaries worshiping together. We also know that there is more to the story than that.
-
Most churches have members who are unwilling or unable to return to worship.
-
Some churches now have people who worship with them across the country and even around the world.
-
Many churches conduct some of their board and committee meetings online.
-
Technology has become an integral part of how we do ministry in 2021 and 2022.
Most churches quickly put together technology that enabled to broadcast their worship service via YouTube or Facebook Live. Now, they are looking at the technology that they have and realize it might not be adequate for today, much less tomorrow.
The ABCRM Board has approved a new grant that is specifically targeted for technology needs. The grant is an 80% matching grant up to $5000 specifically for technology. This means that if the church can raise up to $1250, ABCRM will match that with up to $5000.
We are defining "technology" pretty broadly. It might be a new computer to edit videos. It might be new cameras so that you can get more than one angle for your online worship, it might be as basic as 12 months of high speed internet access for the church so that you can do Zoom meetings and broadcast your worship services live.
You can download the application for the new Technology Grant here. We hope that you will take time to ask, "What will give us the biggest bang for our buck?' Then we hope that you will fill out the application and send it in to ABCRM Technology Grant, 9085 E Mineral Circle, Suite 170, Centennial CO 80112 or E-mail it to Mike Oldham at moldham@abcrm.org. If you have questions about the grant, contact Mike Oldham or Karen Van at kvan@abcrm.org.

In Christ,
Steve Van O
