2027 Executive Minister Search Committee Information

Rev. Dr. Steve Van Ostran will be retiring as ABCRM's Executive Minister, and our Board of Directors is beginning the search for his successor. That search starts with forming a Search Committee, and we want it to represent the full breadth of our Region

Dear Pastor and Church Leaders,

 

Rev. Dr. Steve Van Ostran will be retiring as ABCRM's Executive Minister, and our Board of Directors is beginning the search for his successor. That search starts with forming a Search Committee, and we want it to represent the full breadth of our Region: our geography, church sizes, clergy and lay leadership, generations, and racial, ethnic, and theological diversity.

 

We invite you to nominate a pastor or lay leader from your congregation to serve on this Committee. Nominations may come from covenanting churches, pastors, current Board members, or lay leaders anywhere in the Region.

Serving on the Committee is a real commitment, typically 9 to 18 months, with meetings every 4 to 8 weeks. Members are asked to set aside personal preference for shared discernment, disagree well, and keep discussions confidential. Please share these expectations with anyone you nominate before they agree to serve.

 

To nominate someone, complete the enclosed Nomination Form and include one letter of support (guidance for writing it is enclosed as well). Both are also posted at [abcrm.org page URL – to be added].
